Local Convection
June 20th
Nothing to crazy about the day, though its significant in that it was my new cars introduction to convection. I saw my first storm of the day while working, I was in Colon working at a well when I noted convection forming to my NW, it started to rain so I quit working and began to head back to the shop, I went West out of Colon where I encountered .5 - .75” Diameter hail, knowing there were likely no chasers or spotters in the area I reported the hail to OAX. Later after getting home from work I had initially decided that I was not going to bother with the popcorn type storms in the area, though after sitting around for awhile I decided I would at least go check out the views. I intercepted a couple different storms, one had marble hail just North of Lincoln, though that was about as severe as anything got. By the way this is my new Vehicle, it's a 2008 Mercury Milan, gets good gas mileage and is a smooth comfortable ride!
The following are just some of the towers in the area around Lincoln...

Hail Coming, nothing larger than Marbles.
