Greensburg-Pratt KS Storm
May 26th
My day started early as I had to run to get car repairs due to the day before. After returning to the Holiday Inn after my repairs, the forecasting began. Given the slew of expert forecasters we had on hand, it was no surprise we nailed the days target. Our large caravan of 6 cars consisting of myself, Sean and Katie McMullen, Jeff and Kathryn Piotrowski, Terry Schenk and Gregg Guise, David Hoadley as well as Brian Stertz along with Rich and Ryan Theis rolled out of Dodge City shortly before lunch time. Provided it was in the general target area we made our way to Greensburg KS to check on the progress being made. I must say, while they have a long ways to go there has been substantial progress made. After spending a while in Greensburg we dropped SW to intercept new development taking place near Coldwater. The day never materialized into a large tornado producing day (thankfully as that area needs a break) the skies did provide some awesome scenes. The inflow and moisture these storms were eating up created some of the most impressive inflow bands I have ever seen.
This is the storm getting its Act together Just south of Greensburg

I then tracked the storm as it moved just South of Greensburg, I still need to recover my pics from this stage of the storm, but it was a massive wall cloud with an inflow band streching for miles to the East just hovering right above the ground.
