La Crosse Kansas Storm
May 25th
After chasing the last three days, I had planned on setting a day or two out. However after awaking Sunday morning and seeing the Mod risk and decent model runs for the next 2 coming days despite everyone else already being on the road I left E NE and began the trip into Central KS, arriving just as storms began to fire. I intercepted a cell near La Crosse KS where I filmed a brief weak tornado as well as a Landspout tornado. My chase ended abruptly however as I ran into multiple car problems, so much happened that it would take 2000 words to describe and I really don’t want to relive it, so just know I was pissed and my chase ended… I do want to say thanks to the Rush County Sherriff who was such a help, also the Tire and Lube shop at Wal-Mart in Dodge City has some of the best employees of any body shop I have ever been to, anyway on with the chase….

South of La Crosse, Storm looking pretty Healthy

This funnel quickly developed, I did note a dust plume underneath it breifly.
After the Funnel, the rotation actually picked up and a second time I noted a dust plume.

I started following it North up the highway, this big bowl just hung there spinning like a top.

This Funnel hung directly over the East side of La Crosse

I then left that storm for the next one coming North as I new it would be the new show, that is the new storms base.

I was watching the Meso to my North, when I turn around and see this.

That lasted for nearly two minutes.
Here is a video with some timelapse showing the rotation, and then the Landspout tornado... DOUBLE CLICK TO MAKE BIG!!!!!
